As a practical, emotionally focused therapist, my treatment approach is to provide support and empathic feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. With sensitivity and compassion, I help clients have a quiet place to talk about a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues.
Blending conventional and alternative approaches, I draw on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most useful for each client. I am a social worker by training, a systems thinker in my approach and a Jungian in my philosophy. I believe when you find yourself stuck and you can't sort it out on your own, or when the situation causes so much stress that you are overwhelmed, that it's a perfect time to seek help. I help you take an in depth look at what the conflict and feelings about a particular situation tell you about yourself. I have found that with intelligent and thoughtful questions and a safe place, the sense of isolation and distress fades away and my clients find their own way of solving their dilemmas. Therapy provides a safe and helpful place to approach this process.
